Electrostar Cables (“we”, “us”) operates electrostarcable.in. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have. We are the data fiduciary for the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. Data we collect
- Order data: name, billing and delivery address, telephone number, email address, GSTIN where you supply one, and the contents and value of your order.
- Account data: where you create an account, your username and a hashed password.
- Enquiry data: details you submit through our contact, sample-request and price-list forms.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring URL, collected through cookies and analytics.
We do not store card numbers, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking credentials. Where an online payment gateway is used, those details are captured and processed by the payment gateway directly under its own security certification.
2. Why we use it
- To accept, process, despatch and invoice your order
- To contact you about your order, delivery or a warranty claim
- To meet our GST, accounting and statutory record-keeping obligations
- To respond to enquiries and sample requests
- To detect and prevent fraud
- To improve the website
3. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with: our transporters and logistics partners, to deliver your consignment; our payment gateway and bank, to process payment; our accountants and tax authorities, as required by law; and our hosting and IT service providers, under confidentiality obligations. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
4. Retention
Order and invoice records are retained for eight years as required under Indian tax and companies legislation. Enquiry data is retained for two years. Account data is retained until you ask us to delete the account.
5. Security
The website is served over HTTPS. Access to order data is restricted to authorised personnel. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted to us over the internet.
6. Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the shopping cart and checkout to function, and analytics cookies to understand site usage. You may block cookies in your browser, but the cart and checkout will not work without the necessary cookies.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and may withdraw consent for marketing communication at any time. Write to Electrostarcables@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days. Erasure requests are subject to the statutory retention periods in section 4.
8. Children
The website is intended for business and trade purchasers. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is always published at this URL.
